Dhayunsar hill is one of the famous hill in distt una of himachal pradesh because of having historical lord SHIVA temple on it is long the history of the great shiva temple is long before 5500 years in the period of maha bharata ,there was saint(rishi ) called dhemya was close ans well known to the pandva who while on his journey to diffrent religious places meditation very hard,and installed shivling on the top of the hill .lord shiva was happy and was impressed by the meditation of this saint and asked the saint “i promise you to take any thing from me” the saint requested that who so ever meditation around this dhayunsar hill, his wishes should be fulfilled .on this lord shiva promised to fullfill the disire and wishes of the meditators so from the ancient time people have been coming here and getting , their wishes fullfilled by lord shiva .
Swami onkar nand giri who renovated this sadashiv temple told that in1937 in the night when he was busy in the deep meditation on the bank of river ganga in the northen kashi area of utter pradesh he was lord shiva in the dream, who while standing near the cave underneath this hill directed him to meditate in this cave .there after he started his mission to search and to dis lover this cave and this temple at last .he reached una and there after village sohari with assistance of differnt people .in 1947 with the assistance of headmaster shri shiv prasad sharma of govt. high school sohari in distt. una he could reach out the same cave and the “sda shiv temple “
in fact it is the same place which was directed and shown to him by lord shiva in the dream .thereafter with the staying in the cave he had been meditating under the hill in 1948 he ronovated this temple with help and contribution of local other people.
